The preferred CAD software, for jobs submitted to the Machine Shop, is Solidworks. Solidworks is a powerful and easy-to-use, 3D CAD software package that is used in virtually all industries around the world. This product is licensed for all Faculty, Staff, and Students. New: The CAD Design office at RSS Bldg. 2 Room 170B has 2 seats of SOLIDWORKS as well as Simulation, MatLab, Ansys and other software needed for design. It is open for use to anyone in the Fulton Schools during regular shop hours.
Orientation for Students and Lab Managers
Students and Lab Managers, whether submitting jobs for research faculty or their own Faculty sponsored projects, must complete the one hoursession and register with the machine shop before we can accept job submissions. Individuals can review the PowerPoint slides on the orientation link below. All the information on correct submission and shop capabilities are listed in the Orientation PowerPoint file.
